scary night

hi bears,
shortly after going to bed last night,  woke up with a strong pain and a tremor in my left hand.  It was flopping back and forth against my right arm but there was no feeling in either appendage.  Scared, I woke up Jan who got me an ambulance ride to the hospital.  I woke up with an IV in my arm, apparently the victim of another seizure.  two beautiful sights appeared, Jan in her bright blue sweater and brother Terry in a Notre Dame sweatshirt, both very reassuring.  Before long, I was off to home for more comfort from Jan and the kitties.  Coincidentally, I have read recently a neurology book bout the high historical incidence of creative talent among epileptics, autistics, and people with brain damage .  It theorizes that when the connections between the brain hemispheres is disturbed,it allows special talents to become exposed and concentrated on.  I know that I had a feeling of awakening when I suffered my stroke.  Concentration, spelling and grammar suffered, but  writing and social skills improved with the subsequent loss of inhibition. Now if I can only survive the physical part.

Last year the arts teachers read 'A Whole New Mind' which advocates activating both sides of the brain. The author, Daniel Pink, says that all true genius actively used both hemispheres. He also says that the our next economic phase (industrial, technological) will be a creative one. Since the tech jobs are all done by computers and people overseas. It sounds to me like Bill is ready to make his millions in the creative revolution. Anyone interested in the book is welcome to borrow mine.
